Permanent magnet motor is mainly composed of stator, rotor, bearing device, end cover, junction box and fan/hood. The stator is a fixed part of the motor. The stator is composed of stator core, a frame and a three-phase magnetic field winding. The rotating part is the rator, and it is equipped with a permanent magnet pole.  Permanent magnet motor, especially rare earth permanent magnet motor, has simple inner structure and could runs stably.  Besides, its small size, light weight, small loss, high efficiency, flexibly customizing the motor housing are all the advantages compared to the traditional electric excitation motor.

Usually the conventional permanent magnet motors can be divided into the following five types: permanent magnet DC motor, asynchronous starting permanent magnet synchronous motor, permanent magnet brushless DC motor, speed-regulated permanent magnet synchronous motor and permanent magnet synchronous generator.

Among them, asynchronous starting permanent magnet synchronous motor, frequency controlled permanent magnet synchronous motor and permanent magnet synchronous generator are the most widely used types in application. The fields include aerospace, national defense, industry (petrochemical, mining, textile, etc.) and agriculture (animal husbandry).
